MEMBER of Parliament for Central Honiara Constituency Office (CHCO) Alfred Efona supports Feraladoa community with hardware materials to build a much-needed footbridge.
The materials includes 50 pieces of steel rod, 50 pieces of 12mm steel rod, 20 pieces of 12mm steel rod, 70 bags of 40kg cement, 8 sheets of plywood by 18mm, 6kg tying wire and one wheelbarrow.
Ronia and CHCO staff on behalf of Hon. Efona and CHC team handed over the materials to the community.
The proposed project was initially assessed by the Constituency Project Officer, Andrew Maomaisi and endorsed by the CDO, before it was approved by the Honorable.
Constituency Project Officer (CDO) Keyon Ronia says the assistance is part of an ongoing commitment of CHC under the leadership of Efona to support community-based projects that would benefit everyone.
He explains that the assistance falls under CHC infrastructure program which envisioned to build important infrastructures in communities within the constituency.
Ronia says Feraladoa community has been without a proper footpath, the existing footpath is vulnerable to flooding and that the completion of the project will be a huge achievement for the community.
“More than 400 homes from Ice land community, Isa Valley community and the SSEC Feraladoa community which accommodates up to 800 plus residents will benefit from this project.
“At the moment, the only bridge is made from wood and it’s normally washed away during heavy rain and flooding.
“The communities have already made progress erecting beams for the new bridge and the assistance will go towards the slab on top of the beams,” he says.
Efona acknowledges leaders of Feraladoa for showing their heart and compassion towards their people and resident.
Efona also thank the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for their support toward the CDF program enabling Central Honiara Constituency to deliver its priority projects.
Efona salutes community leaders and members for working together as a community for greater purpose and benefits. CDO Ronia encourages community leaders and constituents to consult the constituency office should they needs assistance.
