RSIPF warns communities of UXO Operations at Foxwood area

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will conduct a Render Safe Procedure (RSP) to a live bomb found at the Foxwood area in North Guadalcanal on April 12 2023.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says the task will be not far from the Foxwood highway road, before the Tina road junction and will be active from 8am to 1pm.

Tunuki says workers, farmers, hunters and the public in and around the Tenaru, Foxwood, Tina road junction and the surrounding communities to keep out from the area while the operation is in progress.

“Safe evacuations of people and road blocks will be enforced within the mention areas and communities are urged to cooperate with us so that we have this operation safely conducted and completed in a timely manner.” Tunuki says.

Tunuki continues to urge the public that any sightings of any unexploded bombs call the Police free toll line 999 or the RSIPF EOD mobile 7495215 or report it to any nearest Police Stations.
