UEL to supply rice to schools as part of social obligation

As part of its social obligation Unique Enterprise Limited has begun rolling out free rice supply to boarding schools in and around Honiara starting with Selwyn College in west Guadalcanal.

Earlier this week, UEL managing director Jason Meng delivered one tone of its fast popular rice Number 1 and noodles to Selwyn College.

Following the successful delivery and positive response, Meng will next supply rice to state owned King George VI, then on to Betikama Adventist College to be followed by St Joseph’s Tenaru.

Meng said as an investor here, his company has a social obligation to give back to this country through this project of assisting boarding schools with a tonnage of rice and cartoons of noodles.

Unique Enterprise Ltd is a sole supplier and distributor of Nice 1 Rice in the country.

Meng said he hoped the support will in a small way help the schools in their food budget.

Rice is a mainstay of the schools’ diet.

UEL hopes that will support with the delivery of rice to one or two schools in the provinces before the end of the year.
