The project plans to disband the second batch of 50 workers on July 25th and the third batch of 80 workers on August 12th, and will disband the rest of the workers according to the project progress in batches and disburse the redundancy payment.

The stadium is a key infrastructure piece for hosting the 2023 Pacific Games. It will serve as the core venue for organizing competitions, training, and other related activities. It will become the primary stage for various sporting events, and its construction and operation are crucial for the successful hosting of the Pacific Games. It is not only a world-class sports competition venue but also a sports park for local people to exercise for leisure and fitness. It plays a critical role in attracting more spectators and participants, promoting economic development, enhancing the city’s image, and leaving a lasting legacy of sports and cultural heritage.

“We call upon all the people in the Solomon Islands to cherish and take care of the stadium facilities, contributing together to the development of sports in the Solomon Islands” the CCECC stated.

The farewell ceremony was attended by the National Hosting Authority and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour, and Immigration (Labour Division).

The Executive Director of NHA also expresses his gratitude to all the local employees who contributed to the construction of the stadium and reminds the local workers that since the project is nearing completion, workers will be laid off according to phases.
