COMMISSIONER of Police warns public of an email scam using his name.
The Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Mr. Mostyn Mangau, has issued a warning to the general public regarding a fraudulent Gmail account being used to impersonate him for personal gain in police cases.
The fake Gmail account has been sent to certain individuals, threatening them and demanding immediate responses to alleged court decisions on case files.
Commissioner Mangau stated, “If you receive an email from mangaumostyn.com.rsipf.2024@gmail.com with my name, please delete or ignore it.
The email is not legitimate, and the signature and address used are incorrect.”
He further cautioned, “This type of scam could lead to fraudulent schemes involving money. I urge everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious emails sent in my name.”
