The Commissioner of the Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI), Mr. Mactus Forau, has been awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) medal during the official celebration of His Majesty King Charles III’s 76th Birthday at the National Stadium in Honiara on 13th June 2025.
Commissioner Forau’s recognition is a reflection of his exceptional dedication and long-standing service to the Government and people of Solomon Islands. He was first enlisted into the Solomon Islands Prison Service—now known as the Correctional Service Solomon Islands—in 1986, marking 39 years of loyal and distinguished service to date.
Throughout his remarkable career, Commissioner Forau has been recognized as a committed, courageous, and visionary leader rising through the ranks, he also served as Undersecretary in the Ministry of Police, National Security, and Correctional Services, before being appointed as Commissioner of CSSI.
The Order of the British Empire (Civil Division) is one of the highest recognitions bestowed for meritorious service to the nation, and this prestigious honour reflects the outstanding contribution Commissioner Forau has made to the correctional service and national security of Solomon Islands.
