Inspector Roy Sade providing crime prevention advice to a fishing village
THE Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the RSIPF & AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) partnered with community leaders in a Fishing village to deliver a joint community engagement program aimed at strengthening cooperation and crime prevention recently.
The event featured awareness talks led by Inspector Roy Sade of Naha Police Station, who addressed crime prevention strategies, emerging crime trends, and community concerns.
Discussions also highlighted the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting and the likely increase in traffic along the Kukum Highway during the event.
As part of the program, officers engaged with residents through organized children’s games and a community barbeque.

Gifts were also presented to the community, alongside donations from the Australian charity Uniform 4 Kids (U4K), which repurposes former police uniforms into clothing, bags, and school supplies for children.
RAPPP Advisor Kevin Shaw said the initiative reflected the strong partnership between police and local communities.
He said RAPPP members and RSIPF live and work in these communities and events such as this build trust and more productive relationships.
The community engagement program underscores RSIPF’s commitment to working closely with local leaders to enhance safety, cohesion, and public confidence in police.
