China assists RSIPF with investigation techniques

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) have completed a four days advanced crime investigation seminar.

The seminar was conducted by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) at Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara last week.

Topics covered during the training includes forensic science and technology, homicide scene investigation, policing-terrorism, cybercrime prevention and major event security.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Crime and intelligence Unit Patricia Leta says the training was very important as it helps officers’ to renew their investigation knowledge and at the same time capture areas of improvements.

She says advanced investigation is paramount given the pace in which the country is transforming to the modern world.

“This training has to be taken seriously and officers must work hard to update their professional knowledge in criminal investigation and forensic science and technology.” Leta says.
