Senior Sergeant Raymond Togapada made history as the first officer from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) to graduate from the esteemed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, USA.
He was among more than 200 law enforcement professionals who completed a 10-week training program, ending on March 13. This cohort represents the 293rd session of the FBI National Academy.
The group includes members from 48 states, the District of Columbia, 24 countries, 11 military organizations, and four federal civilian agencies.
Renowned globally for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy offers advanced training in communication, leadership, and fitness, aiming to elevate law enforcement standards. It has long served as a benchmark for ongoing professional education.
Participants come from every U.S. state, U.S. territories, and over 150 partner nations.
The training equips police officers to return to their communities more effectively prepared to tackle criminal challenges. The overarching aim of the Academy is to support and enhance the personal and professional growth of law enforcement leaders, enabling them to face complex and evolving issues through innovative methods, promoting excellence in education and research, and building global partnerships.
