THE Ownership, Unity and Responsibility (O.U.R) Party has made vibrant waves in the Gizo/Kolombangara Constituency with the launching of its manifesto and the official introduction of its candidate for April’s National General Election, Mr. Jimson Fiau Tanangada, the serving O.U.R Party President at the Provincial Capital, Gizo.
This historic occasion was marked by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Caretaker Prime Minister, the Premier of Western Province, former members of parliament for Shortland Islands, South New Georgia, Rendova, and Tetepare, along with representatives of chiefs from Kolombangara and Gizo, and revered elders.
The event commenced with a spectacular boat parade, featuring over 150 Out-board powered boats adorned in the famous O.U.R Party color, originating from Kolombangara and culminating in a jubilant parade through Gizo town, where more than 3000 enthusiastic supporters proudly displayed their allegiance by donning the yellow attire.
Addressing the gathering, the Caretaker Prime Minister and Parliamentary Wing Leader addressed pertinent issues that have drawn criticism towards the O.U.R Party, providing clarity and reaffirming the party’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the constituents and the nation at large.
The awe-inspiring turnout of supporters from all walks of life underscore the resounding backing and trust that the community places in the O.U.R Party and its leadership.
As the campaign season gains momentum, the O.U.R Party remains steadfast in its mission to represent the aspirations and interests of the people, fostering unity, progress, and prosperity for the Gizo/Kolombangara constituency and beyond. Other activities include entertainment from different groups from the entire constituency, presentation of token of appreciation to recognize the chiefly title of the caretaker Prime Minister and acknowledging the leadership of the outgoing MP for Gizo Kolombangara and caretaker Minister of Education and Human resources Development, Lanelle Tanangada.
