THE RSIPF & AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) bid farewell to its Staff Officer, Detective Sergeant Ngaire Schumacher, in a ceremony held on 22nd January 2025.
Detective Sergeant Schumacher, who deployed into the country in February 2022, was the Staff Officer to the AFP Commander Solomon Islands and the Advisor to the RSIPF on Strategic Leadership and Engagement.
Detective Sergeant Schumacher played an important part in RSIPF’s successful operations during the Pacific Games ‘Operation Safe and Green Games’ in November 2023 and the Solomon Islands National General Elections in April 2024.
The RSIPF Commissioner, Mostyn Mangau, awarded Detective Sergeant Schumacher with the Commissioner’s Group Citation for ‘Operation Safe and Green Games’ recognising her vital support to their successful ‘Operational Safe and Green Games’ 2023.
Commissioner Mangau also awarded Detective Sergeant Schumacher with the RSIPF International Law Enforcement Cooperation Medal to honour her support to the RSIPF.
AFP Commander Solomon Islands, Heath Davies, thanked and commended Detective Sergeant Schumacher for her work across RAPPP and with RSIPF over the last three years.
“I would like to thank Detective Sergeant Schumacher for her support and commitment to the RAPPP over the last three years. She has played a vital role in developing strong relationships with our RSIPF colleagues and in particular the RSIPF senior executive,” Commander Davies said.
He said the warmth and professionalism demonstrated by Detective Sergeant Schumacher will continue to support the AFP in Solomon Islands long after she’s gone.
“Ngaire’s support to the RSIPF Leadership Development and in major operations, notably the Pacific Games and National General Election Operations, were commendable, and we wish her well in the future,” Commander Davies added.
Senior RAPPP and RSIPF executive members witnessed the farewell ceremony held at the RSIPF headquarters at Rove.
