Police visit communities as part of community engagement reassurance despite political instability

THE Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in the past few days has visited vendors at Corona Market in Central Guadalcanal and the Doma community in West Guadalcanal as part of community engagement reassurance.

The visit is part of the ongoing community engagement program with the communities to provide reassurance in the midst of the current political instability.

Your police, the RSIPF, are mandated to make sure safety and peace prevail for all communities in and around Honiara, Guadalcanal, and across the country.

Operation Commander Mr. Simpson Pogeava said during the community visits that every citizen of this country has an important role to play in maintaining peace in our beloved nation.

Commander Pogeava said chiefs, religious leaders, community leaders, women leaders, youth leaders, and everyone play an important role in enhancing peace in our own settings. Our shared duty is to respect and obey the law and protect our communities.

Mr. Pogeava said we should allow our mandatory national leaders to deal with the current political situation at their level. We give them the power with our votes, so let them decide at the top level for us.He said we must prioritize peace over violence, safety over destruction, and stability over disunity. Remember, we are one people, one nation. Let us stand together in unity and protect our communities. Together we can overcome whatever challenges we face as a nation.
