Chinese national robbed in SI

A Chinese national was robbed and wounded on January 20 2023 at the Holiday Resort
Motel, Henderson area.
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau confirms the incident at a media conference held at the Rove Police Headquarters on Thursday this week.
He says three male suspects aged 21-23 have been arrested by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) stationed at Henderson police post.
According to Mangau, the three suspects entered the building with bush knives, one of the suspects wounded the victim and took more than 1000,000.00SBD as well as an unknown amount of Chinese currency.

“Police managed to recover 300 dollars of Chinese currency in a handbag when they arrest the suspects.

“Huge amount of local currency is still missing,” he says.

Magau says the suspects were charged with Arm Robbery Contrary to Section 293(a) (1) 0f the Penal Code and are currently remanded at Rove Correction center (CSSI) for 14 days.

They will re-appear for further mention on 13th February 2023.
Commissioner Mangau says the investigation into the matter continues and he calls on anyone with information relating to the robbery incident to come forward and assist the police or call Guadalcanal Police on phone 36200 or 36201.
